Today, Wargaming announced a new combat mode for World of Tanks called Winter Showdown. This game mode features 8-bit graphics and will offer exclusive in-game content including three custom-built vehicles, a new map, and platooning setups. Available exclusively in Winter Showdown mode, mega platoons will feature 5 players instead of 3. Winter Showdown will off different game setups such as 2 mega platoons vs 2 mega platoons or 10 vs. 10 in random.
To complement Winter Showdown mode, Warming has designed three exclusive tanks: the Mammoth heavy tank, the Polar Bear Tank Destroyer, and the Arctic Fox light tank. Each of these tanks has a designed role on the battlefield. There will special Gold rounds in the events that can be used to help heal teammates, adding a whole new level of strategy to the battlefield.
The Winter Showdown mode is an original battle arena, and a new medal, Operation Winter, will be given to players that perform well in this mode. Check out the trailer below to get a taste of the 8-Bit Winter Showdown.
