Hi-Rez Studios just released their latest cinematic trailer to open up the new year titled ‘Battleground of the Gods.’ The new video features Egyptian goddess Neith battling with the monstrous wolf Fenrir from Norse mythology. When Neith appears to be defeated, Thor interferes to save her. During the battle Quan Yu makes an appearance, a defied general from the Eastern Han dynasty. Before the trailer ends, the environment around Thor becomes frozen and the frost giant Ymir appears.
SMITE is preparing for it’s World Championships in Atlanta this weekend, January 9th – 11th, featuring the third largest prize pool in history. To get everyone hyped, there’s no better way to intro the championship than with a new trailer.
