Get ready! Lego is bursting onto the Multi-player Online world with FunCom’s reveal of Lego Minifigures Online this morning. Set to release in the second half of 2014, Lego Minifigures Online brings the world of Lego to life in a new platform—MMORPG.
The world is teeming with adventure, and has some pretty awesome detail. There are several interesting locations within the game, including Space World, Medieval World and Pirate World. You can explore the depths of space fighting dangers like the mind-controlling Pluuvian Brain-Beast, or sail the high seas as a pirate.
Lego fans all over the world are already familiar with Lego’s Minifigures. In the new MMO world you can continue to collect the mini-figures and use them as your avatar to explore the lush islands and distant galaxies. There are almost 100 different figures already created within the game to be collected by players, and FunCom plans to continuously add more minifigures as years progress.
Collecting minifigures to set as your avatar is for more than just looks, each minifigure has its own unique abilities ready to be discovered by the players. When you run into battle with the DJ, you can literally “drop your beats” onto your enemy. You gain experience as you smash your way through enemies, rocks and Lego blocks. The player-versus-player (PVP) battles allow you build towers, traps, mines and turrets. In the middle of combat, you can destroy your enemy’s towers while also protecting your own.
