Dungeons and Dragons Online is a free MMORPG that is rolling out with a long awaited expansion. D&D Online has steadily increased its user base, and with the release of Menace of the Underdark, is expected to grow even further. The current release date for the Menace of the Underdark expansion is set for sometime in the Summer of 2012.  Menace of the Underdark is expected to bring a breath of fresh air to D&D Online fans by offering a brand new story line, an increased level cap, a new Druid class, and a huge expansion into the Forgotten Realms. Among these roll-outs, there are also some other features D&D Online is bringing to their fans.

According to the D&D Online press release, here’s a better look into the expansion’s features:

Attain Epic Levels up to 25 – This feature allows players to customize and create epic heroes that can be advanced to level 25.

Explore and conquer the depths of the caves of Underdark – This expansion feature allows players to explore an eerie subterranean world and  battle the Underdark Drow and Lolth.

Journey to the Forgotten Realms – Taking place in the village of Eveningstar, players can adventure through the surrounding King’s Forest wilderness area. People of the Cormyr nation must unite to destroy a new foe.

New Druid Class – The Druid class allows players to either shape-shift or use nature magic to slay their foes. The Druid class is a classic D&D character and has finally made its debut.

 

With all that being said, it’s obvious why this expansion is such exciting news. The long awaited expansion should prove to satisfy dedicated D&D Online players and draw new players in alike. The Menace of the Underdark expansion could really help take this awesome game to the next level.
