Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios today announced the return of the popular in-game anniversary event for Star Trek Online as the MMORPG approaches its 5 year anniversary. The developers have begun celebrations today with the revealing of the Anniversary Event that features new story episodes featuring content from legendary Star Trek personalities Harry Kim (Garrett Wang) and Tasha Yar (Denise Crosby). The event is scheduled to begin this Thursday, January 29th, and will run through until February 26th.
Alongside the new story content players can expect a variety of in-game improvements when the Anniversary Event begins, including new secondary deflector items, a revamped Romulan story arc with better balance and rewards, a new in-game officer training system and a large number of minor bug fixes and technical improvements.
Over the last 5 years Cryptic Studios and Perfect World Entertainment have attracted millions to the world of Star Trek Online with 12 large-scale updates and two expansions introducing more story content and features.
